In unit 1 students learnt how to use wire as an artform. Students were taught how to use the correct tools and equipment that allowed them to create different wire work pieces throughout the 6 weeks. During the unit students created drawings using wire and made heart themed pieces for the artroom window. Once students were taught the various wirework techniques they had to create a final wirework sculpture and create a background for it which resulted in the beautiful artworks below.
In unit two students combined many different art mediums and techniques to create beautiful digital and mixed media artworks. Students started by exploring different themes of thier choosing such as pet cats, underwater, hong kong at night, nature and love. With their themes the students went and took a number of photographs of based on their theme thinking about composition and lighting. students explored different mediums such as acrylic paint, oil pastels, coffee, pen and techniques such as splattering, layering, resist to create a number of experimental pages. We then combined the different techniques to create a number of unique individually layers artworks.
In unit 3 students were given different famous artists to research and explore. The artists explored and researched by the students were Georgio Chirico , David Hockney and Frida Kahlo. The students researched the methods, materials and techniques of their artists and explored the deeper meaning and ideas of their artworks. They then created their own inspired artworks based on their findings. Students worked with a range of different media such as charcoal, pastels, acrylic and watercolour paints, collage and pen.

During the 10 weeks of online school the students explored the life and artworks of american artists Edward Hopper, Cindy Sherman and Sally Storch. Students researched the life and work of Edward Hopper and explored the theme of isolation and lonliness in art. They created their own stories based on the paintings of both Hopper and Storch and made visual story boards. From there students looked at proportions of the body and how to draw them correctly by measuring and considering foreshortening. Students also explored character creation by looking at the self portraiture photograpy of cindy sherman and created artistic photos of themselves in costume and makeup turning themselves into their own characters and becoming the artwork. From here students created final artworks exploring a variety of different mediums and styles.

For the final unit of the year the students focused on a self directed project. Students were given a list of themes such as Beginning and End, Anatomy, Past, present and Future and layers to explore and decide on before researching various artists of interest and the different ways of working. They experimented and explored the different mediums before planning their final artworks. Students worked with various mediums including acrylics, spray paints, digital art, sculpture and fashion to create their final artworks of the school year.
