At AEON School, students are placed in the math course that best matches their skill level, fostering growth and understanding. While some students enroll in courses above or below their grade level, most ninth-graders take Integrated Math 2, which bridges algebra and geometry while emphasizing logical reasoning and problem-solving.
In Integrated Math 2, students explore:
Linear and quadratic motion: Examining these concepts algebraically and geometrically, with a focus on perpendicular bisectors, distances, and vectors.
Logical reasoning and mathematical argument: Developing skills in constructing and understanding geometric proofs.
Geometric theorems: Investigating triangle congruence, parallelism, circle properties, and the similarity of polygonal figures.
Right triangle trigonometry: Applying trigonometric ratios and their inverses in solving problems.
Measurement of shapes: Calculating the area of polygons, as well as the surface area and volume of three-dimensional figures.
