Innovative Gamification Applications Material Development Work-2/ Turkey

The aim of this training activity, which will be carried out for teachers and academicians is to create studies on gamification applications in English lessons for the” Gamification Practices Guide Book for English Lessons.” This guidebook will include digital applications aimed at English learning outcomes to be determined by the teachers.

Activities to be developed will include studies that may pay attention to the students who are not interested in English lessons and have low academic success in schools. Planning, implementation steps, and assessment and evaluation studies will be in this Guide Book.

4 teachers from each partner school and 2 academicians will attend this activity.

The planned learning material studies are as follows:

1-Designing My Educational Game Activity Workshop:

TOONTASTIC: With Toontastic 3D students can draw, animate, and narrate their own cartoons. It’s as easy as play. They will just move their characters around on screen, tell their story, and Toontastic records their voice and animations and stores it on their device as a 3D video. Toontastic is a powerful and playful way to create interstellar adventures, breaking news reports, video game designs, family photo albums, or anything else they might imagine!

Thus, the students will increase their productivity with the work they will do in the workshops and their self-confidence will be reinforced. Also; Thanks to this learning material, students will develop systematic thinking skills and will discover the limits of their game design skills and editing skills.

Mobile Applications and Digital Games in Education Learning Material:

In order to break down the prejudices of students towards English lessons, entertaining twelve (12) mobile and digital activities to be able to applied in English lessons will be developed.

NOTE: Division of labour for these activities will be planned by holding an online meeting prior to the mobility.
