A new Rain-water tank
Before " Wat@rt" erasmus+ project the school did not have any rain water storage.
Students shared the actions they do to save water at home and in their schools during the Erasmus week in Navàs. after hearing so many initiatives, they liked the idea from the irish partners who have a rain water tank next to their school garden. From now on and thanks to the project, kids proposed to St Josep school teachers to get a rain-water tank to save water and use it to water the vegetable garden and plants of our kindergarten.
Installation of Flow Reducers
The Wat@rt project made it possible to raise students' awareness of the importance of this scarce commodity, Water. Throughout the project we explored various ways to save water and found that we could implement some of them in our school. The students themselves installed the flow reducers and also committed to sharing this initiative with their families. The amount of water consumed will certainly reduce :)
Mural of the marine life
Our school has been so enriched by our involvement in the WAT@RT project. We have now got a beautiful mural to highlight the wonder of the marine life in our area - seals, fish and many varieties of seaweed. Our mural will forever connect us to our Catalan friends as it contains a seahorse in the colours of Catalan and some coral.
Our involvement in the project has allowed us to put more focus on our beautiful surroundings and to utilise the trials, walks and habitats that surround us. It has also drawn attention to the expertise that we have with in our very own school - Ms Redmond is a wealth of knowledge and will be called upon to share her knowledge again.
