Josephine "Pinpin" E. Pareja
Political Career:
Vice Mayor of Zamboanga City (2022–Present): Elected under the Partido Prosperidad Y Amor Para Na Zamboanga, Pareja currently serves as the city's Vice Mayor.
City Councilor (2013–2022): Prior to her vice mayoral role, she was elected as a City Councilor for three consecutive terms, demonstrating consistent public support and trust.
Barangay Chairperson of Talisayan (2007–2013): Pareja began her political journey as the Barangay Chairperson of Talisayan, a barangay in Zamboanga City, where she served two terms.
Community Engagement:
Disaster Relief: In collaboration with Mayor John Dalipe and other officials, Pareja distributed rice and relief items to communities in Barangays Sta. Catalina and Kasangyangan were affected by flash floods.
Support for Local Governance: In November 2023, Vice Mayor Pareja played a significant role in the induction of over 1,500 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan officials in Zamboanga City, underscoring her commitment to empowering grassroots leadership.
Advocacy for Indigenous Communities: During her tenure as a City Councilor, Pareja attended the Integrated Resource Development for Tri-People (IRDT) Training, focusing on the development and integration of indigenous communities in the region.
2025 Electoral Bid:
Vice Mayor Pareja is a candidate for the House of Representatives, representing Zamboanga City's 1st legislative district in the 2025 elections. She is running under the Lakas–CMD party.
