The next day after our arrival, January 4, 2024, we made a courtesy visit to the barangay captain of Barangay Delusom, Eduard "Kap" Prete from which we learned about the general overview of the barangay, the number of puroks, whom to go for when asking for help,  his associates in the barangay, and what his goals are for the barangay, especially in terms of health, he also told us also stories about the previous batch who was also assigned to Barangay Delusom. 

The group then visited the Barangay Health Center. Ma'am Catalina "Ging-Ging" Bunsocan, the barangay health worker was kind enough to guide us around the health center from which we were able to come to know about what available types of equipment the barangay health center has, she also gave us information about the prevalence of diseases and learn about the general well-being of the residents in Barangay Delusom, giving us a run through of the services given, as well as the schedules for dewormings, prenatal checkups, and immunizations. The group was elated by how the community welcomed us, as well as the barangay captain, we felt safe and assured that we would be assisted by the barangay.

"Talun-od" is an organization formed by the community for the purpose of aiding the bereaved family of their perished members in times of need. The people gather at the multi-purpose covered court to discuss the roles of each committee and extend monetary contributions. They also wear specific shirt colors to easily identify  which group they belong to when they are called on stage. 

Last January 07, 2024 we were invited to attend one of the Talun-od meetings and had the chance to formally introduce ourselves and announce our intention for the area to the residents present including the Purok leaders. We also had the opportunity to chat with the people after the meeting.

All three groups assigned in the Municipality of Mahayag were gathered for the flag ceremony held at the Municipal Hall last January 08,  2024. Dr. Jerald O. Ramos introduced us to Mayor Manuel T. Saladaga, CE and Vice Mayor Lester Ace S. Espina and the rest of Sangguniang Bayan members. We had a tour around the different offices, followed by a tour around the Rural Health Unit, and Police Station. We requested for their assistance on secondary data gathering for our respective barangays.

The primary data gathering also known as House-to-House Survey officially began on January 09, 2024. At first, we decided to split our group into 2 teams and went about the neighborhood of Purok 1, and when we eventually found a strategy that worked for us, we decided to split into pairs to finish our H2H Survey faster until we reached Purok 7.

The residents of Delusom were quick to welcome us into their homes and enthusiastically shared their stories with us. 

Our team assisted in the Department of Health's Expanded Program on Immunization under the guidance of Delusom's ever supportive Barangay Health Workers last January 17, 2024. Vitamin A, Pentavalent vaccines, and Inactive Polio vaccines were given to the babies.

The team visited the elementary school and introduced ourselves to the teachers of Barangay Delusom. We also got to interact with their students when we measured them for their height and weight.
