ARAW NG DELUSOM
On January 12, 2026, Barangay Delusom proudly celebrated “Araw ng Delusom,” an annual festivity commemorating the founding of the barangay. This cherished celebration provides the community an opportunity to come together, reflect on their rich history, and strengthen the bonds of unity and camaraderie. The celebration featured exciting community programs and amazing food stalls that everyone loved.
The highlight of the day was the “False Gay” a lively and entertaining contest that showcases men who dress and act convincingly like gay individuals. Contestants competed in various segments, including a grand introduction, a creative talent portion, a stunning evening gown showcase, and an engaging question-and-answer round. Adding excitement to the program were spectacular intermission numbers, featuring dynamic singing and energetic dance performances that delighted the audience. The night then ended with a disco where everyone danced, laughed, and enjoyed the festive vibe together.
This celebration was a memorable experience to the medical students who attended the event, giving them the chance to connect with the residents and witness the strong sense of unity and warmth in Barangay Delusom.
PRENATAL
On January 14, Our team conducted a prenatal check-up activity in our community to support the health and well-being of pregnant women and their babies. During the visit, we assisted expectant mothers by coordinating basic health assessments, sharing important information about proper nutrition and prenatal care, and encouraging regular medical check-ups. This activity helped strengthen awareness about maternal health, allowed us to connect directly with families, and showed our commitment to promoting safe and healthy pregnancies within the community.
PUROK MEETING
On January 14, 2026, a Purok 4 meeting was held at Barangay Delusom, which began with an opening prayer followed by the singing of the National Anthem, marking the start of the formal meeting. After the meeting proper, medical students from ADZU–School of Medicine conducted a series of health-related activities for the community. These included the distribution of post-test examinations on solid waste management, hypertension, and safe water to assess participants’ knowledge. The Morisky Medication Adherence Scale was also administered to evaluate medication compliance among residents. The activity concluded with blood pressure monitoring, promoting health awareness and early detection of hypertension within the community.
HOUSE-TO-HOUSE SURVEY
The medical students from AdZU-SOM conducted a house-to-house survey to evaluate and monitor community-based health interventions addressing priority public health concerns, including inadequate access to safe drinking water, hypertension, and improper solid waste management. The activity focused on assessing the reach and effectiveness of existing interventions done during their last exposure (July 2025) while identifying gaps that may require further action. Through direct household engagement, essential data were gathered to support evidence-based decision-making and inform the development of sustainable strategies to improve overall community health outcomes.
IMMUNIZATION
On January 21, 2026, the group participated in a community exposure activity in Barangay Delusom, Mahayag. The medical students from ADZU-SOM assisted in the barangay’s scheduled immunization program, supporting local health workers in promoting child health and disease prevention. This activity reflects the students’ commitment to community service and public health partnership.
