this session has flown by, with. science and all the sickness that has flown around but now where nearly all back!
Explore
The explore studio has been working hard in their ww. exhibition when presenting their bios on their science heros and presenting their group science projects. We can not wait to see what comes next in the coming sessions.
Spark
This week we have been reviewing the scientific method, winding up science squads and getting ready for exhibition. They continue to work on being responsible and being made accountable for our actions. This is shown in the Freedom levels during lunch time and free play. As a tribe, the morning work cycle now has allocated seats for the meantime until we can demonstrate that we will focus more on our own work and not distract others. The Heroes have already shown focus and determination in completing many challenges and tasks throughout the week. The Heroes continue to show a growth mindset individually and as a tribe. they have not used our peace table in over a week, they sort out their problems before needing to use it!
Launchpad
The week for the Launchpad cottage saw the introduction of Jared Diamond's Pulitzer Prize-winning book, GUNS, GERMS, AND STEEL for Civilizations, which makes an objective point that a driver of history is geography (highly recommended book). Armed with the information provided, we implement deep dives and engage in Socratic discussions on the factors which cause Global population growth and Global poverty. They further also broke down the specific institutional, cultural, and geographical factors which separate the reasons why a country would be poor and others rich.
We can not wait till the next session for us and the school!
