This week all the studios have learned so much.
Spark
This week in Spark has been a busy one! In addition to the regular work cycle the children made get well cards for those who were out. They also learned a few Spanish songs and discovered Science Max!
Primary
The primary studio practiced their sounds and matching quantities to the symbols. They also learned a new days of the week song.
Discover
The Discover Studio bake sale was a great success last Saturday! The hosting Heroes earned over $400 to pay for their Studio field trip to Xtreme Jump Adventure Park in Temple. The field trip date is still to be determined. During session 2, Discover Studio voted on the field trip after all of the heroes wrote a pitch for the "Pitch a Field Trip" writer's workshop challenge. Once all of the ideas for a field trip were presented, the Studio voted on the field trip to raise money for, plan and attend.
A topic of discussion this week has focused on the words we say, how we say it, and the effect our words have on one another. As a studio, the challenge is to utilize our words with the following acronym:
H-A-I-L (the kind of "hail" that means to say hello, not the weather related hail).
H = Honesty (speaking with honesty)
A = Authenticity (being who you are and communicating with that. Being genuine)
I = Integrity (doing what's right even when no one is watching)
L = Love (is your approach and speech based on love and kindness)
This week, Discover Studio continued exploring the Middle East during the time of Ottoman rule for civilization. Science Squads have been on "pause" this week and will hopefully pick back up next week when fellow travelers return to school.
In addition to creating and achieving weekly SMART goals, Discover Studio has continued the challenge of working every school day in Math for a minimum of 30 minutes in order to earn Fun Friday. Next week, the studio will add to that challenge in order to keep productivity momentum flowing.
Week Review
Wow everyone has been doing well this week, and we can't wait for science squads to start back again!
