This was the 4th year Ira B Jones Elementary participated in Hour of Code, a world wide effort to expose all students to computer programming. At Jones, 515 students participated in 26 classrooms. Student and parent enthusiasm for computer programming grew after this event. Parents reached out to start a Scratch Club. Before school, 47 students in grades 3-5 worked collaboratively on coding in Scratch. They created 14 Studios or projects and collaborated with a students in Europe on challenges. Two Kindergarten classrooms integrated Dash, the programmable robot into their daily center times.
