Welcome to our class page!
Dear Students and Families,
Welcome to Third Grade! I’m excited about the opportunity to get to know you, and I’m looking forward to a happy and productive school year. I am excited to begin the 2020-2021 school year. It is our vision is provide a well rounded curriculum that will help develop survival skills necessary to succeed in the 21st century, including critical thinking, problem solving, collaborating, creating, and communicating. Technology will be used frequently to enhance our learning environment, including Chromebooks, Promethean boards, and Lab computers.
Learning will involve not only teachers and students, but parents and community members as well. Parent support both at school and at home is vital to the success of this program, and invite you to get involved! Parents can contribute by donating supplies, sharing areas of expertise and attend PTO nights.
Working together, we will ensure that all students have a meaningful and successful year.

Weekly Homework
Our homework policy is that students write their homework for the week in their school issued agendas every Monday morning. These assignments may change as we go throughout the week, but it is the student's responsibility to update their weekly agendas to reflect these changes. In addition, we will do our best to communicate any upcoming tests and quizzes through your student's weekly agenda. Students will have nightly math homework and they will receive this homework on Monday morning and it is due the following Friday. Students will have Science and Social Studies homework periodically.
My grading policy is:
30% Assessments(Tests/Quizzes)
30% Formative Assessments
30% Classwork
10% Homework
Bi-Weekly Folders
Graded work will be sent home every other Thursday in their folder. Folders must be SIGNED by a parent/guardian and returned by the following day to receive a BONUS Dojo point. This is an important communication tool for us to keep you informed of how your child is doing academically, behaviorally, as well as up to date on school happenings. Thank you for insuring that these are looked at and signed every other week.

2021-2022 School Calendar Link
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OEhJs-_UMNZ0ljBrI22drkM9D160YMSe/view?usp=sharing
Please mark those dates on your calendar. Studies show that parental involvement in a child’s education is one of the strongest indicators of student achievement. We hope you will make it a priority this year to attend as many school-sponsored events as possible.
Absences
If your child is absent, a note must be sent in when they return stating why they were absent. Students will have two days to complete and return any missed assignments. Any missing assignments not turned in in a reasonable time may reflect poorly on the student's grades. It is the student's reasonably to complete work and turn it in to the classroom teacher.
It is vital to our success that students attend school regularly, and stay for the entire instructional day. Thank you for ensuring that students only miss when absolutely necessary and limiting early pick ups.
