Tips for improving your reading

How to improve your reading when taking tests.

  1. Read the topic sentence of each paragraph.
  2. Underline key information such as names, dates, places and numbers as you read.
  3. When answering questions, try to underline the place where you found the answer and match it carefully to the question. This makes it easy for you to check your answers.
  4. Underline new vocabulary and try to guess the meaning using the sentence that it is used in. (Read around the word).
