EMT Academy

OVERVIEW

The Graham High School EMT Academy is part of the Public Safety Academy. This program is for students that have or may have an interest in a career as an Emergency Medical Technician. The Academy offers Public Safety I, EMT I, and EMT II classes that give the student an opportunity to earn the North Carolina EMT certification through the Office of Emergency Medical Services. Upon completing the certification, opportunities will open for employment right out of high school. While in the EMT Academy, the student will be equipped with the basic foundation of emergency medical knowledge and skills and important life skills and soft skills that will make the student successful in their chosen career path.

My passion is preparing youths for their futures and making a positive impact in the Profession of Emergency Medical Services. I am blessed to call Graham High School my home, and I look forward to meeting all of you and watching you blossom into the young adults that you will become. The youth is the future, and your time is now. These four years will propel you forward into the future, and I am honored to be a part of that.


EMT I & II will prepare you for being an EMT Basic. After completing this two-semester course having a final grade of 80 along with an exam grade of 80 at the conclusion of EMT II you will be eligible to test for your state certification and will be able to start your career in emergency medicine right out of high school.
