greg standafer

My name is Greg Standafer (Mr.S). I've been in the construction trades for over 45 years. I started when I was 15 years of age working at a cabinet shop in a suburb of Detroit. I worked my way through college (Southeastern University in Lakeland Fl "go Fire") while also playing baseball for the University in the NAIA division. While attending college I worked as a residential framer, roofer, sheetrock installer, and finisher. Upon leaving college I moved to NC and got a job at a Custom Cabinet Shop. After 5 years working at Overman Custom Cabinets, I then opened my own business (Carolina Custom Cabinets). I owned and operated it from 1991 through 2009 when I started teaching Construction Technologies here at Graham HS. I am a certified NCCER Instructor. If you choose to enroll in my classes then you will automatically be eligible to receive credentials through NCCER. More info to follow.

I am an entrepreneur. I've actually owned several smaller businesses along the way. One of my biggest accomplishments was riding a bicycle from Detroit to Denver (1,400 miles in 14 days) when I was 16 years of age. I am married and have 4 children, 1 grandchild, 4 dogs, 4 chickens, 3 cats, and a pig.
