It is hard to believe that we have already been in school for 3 weeks. The first graders have been doing a great job learning how our classroom works. We have started some curriculum, such as math and Fundations!
Highlights from Room 3
We turned our hopes and dreams into a fun craft project!
We practiced using scissors and glue to make this sailor craft. These will be on full display at Back to School Night!
We have been enjoying a lot of books together!
We enjoyed reading books together such as The Book with No Pictures, Stand Tall Molly Lou Melon, Giraffes Can't Dance and many others. Our learning focus has been an introduction to text, illustrations and character traits.
We began our Math and Fundations units.
Math: Chapter 1 in our math program focuses on addition concepts.
Fundations (our phonics program): Unit 1 focuses on letter sounds and formation.
