This skill builder will get you started with THREE embroidery stitches that we will be using in Fiber Arts. **If you have already done this in 7th grade, please repeat this activity! It's never a bad thing to practice annnnnnd you will be a pro at it!!**
Everyone will get:
-A small piece of felt
-A needle (that NEEDS to be returned at the end of class)
-Embroidery Floss (You choose the color(s)!)
People will share:
-Beeswax (for helping to thread the needle)
-Scissors
For this activity we will be learning:
-The Running Stitch
-The Back Stitch (we will use this one a lot!)
-The Blanket Stitch
This is an example of what your 'Stitch Sampler' should look like:
See the videos below to learn how to do the Running Stitch, Back Stitch and the Blanket Stitch:
**For the Back Stitch it is important to sew BACK into the previous hole...Doing that is what makes a CONTINUOUS LINE as opposed to a BROKEN LINE like the Running Stitch.
