Missy Rees has been the teacher of ABC Preschool since 2000. She has a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and is a born and raised Fairbanksan.
Her decades of experience educating over 1000 preschoolers has given her a vast teaching toolkit to rely on and she knows how to keep kids engaged and families lining up to return to ABC.
Missy’s favorite author is Mo Willems of The Pigeon and Elephant & Piggie book series. She has an enthusiasm for continuing education and learning new tricks and techniques in engaging kids in their discovery of letters and letter sounds. She believes building this solid foundation during preschool will allow students to take off reading once they enter kindergarten.
In her time away from teaching, Missy owns and operates Moose Creek Farm, travels and loves spending time with her dogs. She is a member of the Midnight Sun Golden Retriever Club, Alaska Farm Bureau, and Tanana Valley State Fair Association.
