What is a parent cooperative preschool?

Aurora Borealis Cooperative (ABC) Preschool is a nonprofit parent cooperative preschool, which means that the school is owned and operated by the parents of the enrolled children. The school has only one paid employee, currently our magnificent teacher, Missy Rees! The cooperative nature of the school requires and encourages committed parental involvement in the classroom and in the general functioning of the school. 

Parents are required to volunteer their time as parent aides in the classroom, serve on the executive board, and take on a family job each school year.
