Traditionally in video competitions, there is a panel of Judges which decides which video is superior in their respective category. The ABC Digital Video Awards has 6 Competitive Categories, open for ABC students and other school's students and 3 'ABC only' categories, for which only ABC students can be nominated and participate.
The ABC DVA does have a panel of Judges, composed of the ICT Committee for the school. The 6 Competitive Categories allows the audience to voice their opinion regarding their video of preference for each category. With this in mind, we create a public poll, about 2 weeks before the DVA Gala Evening (June 7th, 2018). The poll this year will be opened on the week of May 14th, 2018. The popular vote will be allowed for 5 days only; after which the poll will close. The video with the most votes will win.
The winner of the Competitive Categories will be decided by popular vote ONLY. We will ensure only one vote per unique email will be counted. An unexplained surge in votes with sequential or suspicious emails will be considered invalid for vote brigading.
The ABC Categories are wholly decided by the ICT Committee, not by popular vote. The films in these categories are considered by the ICT Committee to be those which have the highest standards and quality of production, and will not be available on the form for popular voting.
