Run Balmoral T-shirt design competition:.
EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUNG RUNNING ARTISTS AND DESIGNERS
Once again we are looking for a budding young artist/designer to come up with an imaginative and creative image to be printed on the t-shirts awarded to more than 1,000 runners in the 2024 Run Balmoral primary and secondary schools races.
And there's an awesome prize up for grabs as the winner in each category will receive £50 for themselves with a further £100 cheque to be given to their school,sports club or favourite charity.
The winners will also receive a free race entry for Run Balmoral which is held over the weekend of April 27-28.
The primary schools winner will receive a free entry to the MPH primary schools 1.5k. The secondary schools winner will receive a free entry to the NFU Mutual secondary schools 2.5k - although those aged 15 or over on the day of the race can enter the Harbour Energy 5k if they prefer.
The rules are simple:
The competition is open to anyone attending primary or secondary school or home schooling.
Primary school pupils can enter the primary schools design competition; secondary school pupils can enter the secondary schools design competition.
Your image should be no larger than A4 paper size. You can submit more than one image.
Scan or photograph it, then send it to us at info@runbalmoral.com
Please keep the original version as we may need it at a later date.
IMPORTANT: Please remember to provide us with the following information:
Your name.
Age.
School name.
Contact email address and/or phone number for your school.
Contact name and email address and/or phone number for a parent/guardian.
Name of school/club or charity you would want your prize to go to if successful.
The school or club submitting the most entries in each category will also receive 2 free entries for either the primary or secondary schools races.
Schools can choose how they want to allocate these free places (maybe a lucky draw open to those who submitted entries?)
The closing date for entries is 5pm on 30th November 2023.
The Board of Run Balmoral will choose the winner and the result will be announced as soon as possible after the closing date.
Primary & Secondary School
Intensive Junior Learn to Swim lessons are 3-day sessions with 45 minute lessons each day. These lessons are open to swimmers already attending primary or secondary school, or who will be starting Primary 1 in August (please book Swim Skills 1 Red if your child is starting Primary 1 in August).

Available levels:
Swim Skills 1 Red (equivalent to Sport Aberdeen Swim Skills 1A / Aberdeenshire Council Level 1)
Swim Skills 1 Amber(equivalent to Sport Aberdeen Swim Skills 1B / Aberdeenshire Council Level 2)
Swim Skills 1 Green (equivalent to Sport Aberdeen Swim Skills 2A / Aberdeenshire Council Level 3)
Swim Skills 2 (equivalent to Sport Aberdeen Swim Skills 2B / Aberdeenshire Council Level 4)
Swim Skills 3 (equivalent to Sport Aberdeen Swim Skills 3/ Aberdeenshire Council Level 5)
Swim Skills 4 (equivalent to Sport Aberdeen Swim Skills 4 / Aberdeenshire Council Level 6)

A 1.5km childrens race, event village and adult running events. Contact the school office if you would like to book a place on the coach travelling from school. We have had a large team in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2022.
Glack Attack - Trail race
New kids 3km race!
A new kids race for 6 – 12 year olds. The ‘Wee Glack Trail’ is an awesome roller coaster of a trail run, and at just over 3km is perfect all abilities – from keen club runners to beginners looking for their first adventure run.
The wee run start time is 12.10, which means it takes place after the big run, making for the perfect family day out!
6 - 8 year old participants must be accompanied by an adult throughout the run. The adult taking part with their child doesn’t need to pay to participate, and can accompany up to two participants. 9 – 12 year olds do not need to be accompanied by an adult.
