It has been a busy few months supporting the Bronze 2019/20 cohort in completing the Volunteering, Physical and Skills sections of their Bronze DofE programmes; and recruiting and training the Bronze 2020/21 cohort for the Expedition section of their Bronze DofE programmes.
Bronze DofE
2019/20 cohort: To date, 10 participants have been presented with their 2020 DofE Certificate of Achievement – with many congratulations on their achievements in the face of the unprecedented challenges caused by the COVID-19 outbreak. It is hoped that we will able be able to present a few more in the coming month.
Congratulations to Titi, Skye, Daniel, Leah, Maciej and Owen on achieving a 2020 DofE Certificate of Achievement. Well done!
2020/21 cohort: To date, 12 S3 pupils have signed up to complete a Bronze DofE programme. We have already had a number of lunchtime meetings including expedition training sessions (navigation and route planning: preparatory map skills and compass skills). We are also trialling the Bronze Youth Achievement Award alongside the above this session.
Silver DofE
2018/19 cohort: To date, 4 participants have been presented with their Silver DofE Award. It is hoped that we will be able to present a few more in the coming months.
Congratulations to Isabel Mariano and Navya Sharma on completing a Silver DofE Award. Well done!
As part of DofE, participants also gain a Saltire ‘Approach’ Award to recognise their volunteering within the school or their local community.
Thank you to all the DofE Leaders that work with the participants on a weekly basis, to all members of staff that provide activities for the participants to do, and to all members of staff that support on an ad hoc basis.
