It has been a very different Term 4 compared to previous years; however, it has still been a busy one for both participants and leaders.
Bronze and Silver DofE
Participants have been involved in completing the Volunteering, Physical and Skills sections of their DofE programmes.
DofE have just introduced 2020 DofE Certificate of Achievement. It is a new accolade given to young people at any Award level who’ve completed their Volunteering, Physical and Skills sections.
DofE introduced the Certificate to recognise the hard work of participants who’ve completed their Volunteering, Physical and Skills sections but can’t currently do their expedition because of the pandemic.
DofE want to celebrate everything they’ve achieved through these sections, as well as their resilience in coping with the unprecedented events their year.
Congratulations to Dionne, Kristof, Aimee and Ellie on achieving their 2020 DofE Certificate of Achievement – we hope they are the first of many participants to achieve this accolade.
Expedition Section
We still intend to facilitate the Expedition section for participants at both Award levels for them to achieve their Award. We are awaiting more information from DofE and Aberdeen City Council regarding this.
Looking forward
When the school returns in August we will look to support those participants that have not been able to complete their Volunteering section during the school closure. We also look to recruit and register the next cohort of Bronze DofE participants.
Thank you
I would like to thank all our DofE Leaders who have continued to support participants during the school closure. I would also like to thank all the staff and local community who have supported our participants and assessed them for the various sections of their DofE programme.
