If you or anyone else you know are part of the LGBTQIA+ community and struggling with mental health concerns and/or are upset by recent local and national policy changes, please know there are people who stand side-by-side with you in support.

Mental Health Workshops by the Washtenaw Intermediate School District
The Washtenew Area Intermediate School District (WISD) offers virtual workshops for parents and caregivers on a variety of topics related to youth mental health.
Topics include: Youth Mental Health, Children with ADHD and more.

Vouchers for Free glasses and exams through America's Best
The America's Best Vision Centers at Maple Village and Arborland offer vouchers for free eyeglasses and exams for eligible individuals (including children).
Each location only offers 5 vouchers per month.
Maple Village: Offers a free exam and free glasses.
Children under 13 can get free polycarbonate single-vision lenses. Call and ask for Roxanne to schedule an appointment.
Arborland: Offers a voucher program for families in need.
Kids 13 and under can get free polycarbonate single-vision lenses. Children under 15 can get 2 pairs of glasses with an exam for $65. A social worker must accompany the family to get a voucher from the Arborland location. Please check in with your school social worker for assistance at this location.

Get Help with Your Finances: Washtenaw County Financial Empowerment Center (FEC)
This free financial counseling service is designed for all income levels.
Get support around late rent payments and how to create emergency funds.
The FEC staff also has a partnership with DTE and can help consumers with shut-off notices, set up DTE payment plans, and help consumers navigate other utility services.

Staying on top of your student’s grades is a key component to their success. By creating a single-sign-on account, you will have access to student grades and any missing or incomplete assignments. What is Schoology
Teachers use Schoology to post their classroom materials online; provide a safe forum for students to discuss their ideas and collaborate on projects; and to assign and collect homework electronically. It helps students stay organized and it keeps the class connected. A Schoology Parent Account gives you access to:
The classes your child is enrolled in.
Your child’s upcoming assignments.
School and class announcements.
