100 Books Before Kindergarten

Children who are read to often, and are frequently exposed to other literacy experiences such as singing, rhyming, and conversation, have an edge when it comes to being ready to learn to read.  Research shows that engaging in early literacy activities at home helps prevent reading difficulties later in school and promotes positive attitudes toward reading.  As little as 15 minutes a day can make a positive influence on your child’s readiness to read.  Most importantly, reading together is fun!

We invite you to help your child develop the important pre-reading skills that provide a solid reading foundation - a key to school and learning success - by participating in the 100 Books Before Kindergarten challenge!  Although this challenge is voluntary, we encourage you to participate, as it will reap many positive benefits for your child.
