All students will receive information about core and elective courses offered at NCHS in Student Seminar. They will work with their School Counselor to request courses to take for next year. Here is the general timeline of scheduling events:
Friday, December 22, 2023-Elective Fair in New Gym during Period 1, 2, 4.
Wednesday 1/9/24 at 6:00pm: VIRTUAL Scheduling Information Night via Google Meet at 6:00pm (join here)

Thursday, January 18 at 6:00pm: STEM VIRTUAL Scheduling Information Night via Google Meet at 6:00pm (join here)
January 17, 19, and 26 - Students receive scheduling information in Student Seminar
January 16-24: NCHS Core Content Teachers work with students to determine course recommendations for next year and help students fill in Course Selection Sheets
January 11-25: NCHS Core Content Teachers input online course recommendations in PowerSchool
End of April/Early May: Students will receive a list of the courses they have requested to take next year. They can request changes by May 10. Parents have access to approve/deny/change course requests in Parent Portal. Instructions here in English and Spanish.

Passion courses are 9-week long classes that provide students an exciting way to explore a variety of topics. When making their course selections, students must select two passion courses (one per MP)
NCHS offers a wide array of electives - both half-year and year-long - in all departments that cater to the various interests of our students. Click here for a comprehensive list of all available elective courses.
Advanced Placement classes are year-long, college level classes taken in high school. Each course culminates with an exam, which provides students the opportunity to earn college credits. Learn more about our AP offerings!
