ECAP is the Early College Access Program. This is an approved program from the state of Maryland that allows high school students to take college classes at reduced tuition.
Anne Arundel Community College allows students age 16 and older to take classes at half tuition, as long as they are on track to graduate and meet any prerequisites for their college class. When students apply to AACC online, they must have an SAT, ACT or Accuplacer score, submit their high school transcript for review, then meet with an AACC advisor to register for classes.
Students should let their counselor know of their interest in ECAP. North County has an AACC transition advisor and designated admissions officer at AACC whom your school counselor will connect you with!
Some AACC courses are dual credit, awarding both college and high school credit. Review the list of AACC courses that satisfy requirements of AACPS courses. Interested? Contact your school counselor for more information!
Note: Dual credit must be preapproved by Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS).
