Listen to the songs and write a brief commentary on each one of them. Try to describe the musical style, if they remind you of any other bands - national or international - you have heard, and if you have ever attended a gig by any of these artists or similar ones. Stars are a band formed in 2000 in Montreal (Quebec, Canada). Take Me To The Riot, included in their 2010 LP titled In Our Bedroom After the War. Their 2022 album is titled From Capelton Hill.
Metric founded in Toronto, Ontario, in 1998, another wonderful Canadian band. This song is from Formentera (2022). Fronted by Emily Haines whom with members of Stars and people from other Canadian bands form the musical collective Broken Social Scene.
The Decemberists from Portland, Oregon U.S.A.: The Wanting Comes in Waves/ Repaid (2009), included in the album The Hazards of Love. This song is a collaboration with Sarah Nova, previously Worden, from My Brightest Diamond.
Daughter, an international band based in London. Youth is a song included in their EP The Wild Youth (2011) and their first album If You Leave (2013).
Josh Pyke is an Australian singer and songwriter. This song is titled Leeward Side, from The Beginning and the End of Everything (2013).
Vampire Weekend, are an indie-rock band formed in New York city in 2006. This song opens their fifth album: Only God Was Above Us (2024).
