Parent volunteers are always welcome and much needed! I would like to start having volunteers in the classroom in about three weeks. It is a district wide policy that ALL volunteers have a valid T.B. test record on file, as well as a live scan (fingerprinting) report done if they are working with students or accompanying them on field trips. Please have both of these done as soon as possible if you have not already done so. If you have questions regarding this, please see the school office. Below is a list of tasks that I will need help with throughout the year.

Room Parent/Event Planner: This job requires someone that will coordinate parties/special events for our class. They will also act as a liaison between the PTC and our classroom parents, although attendance at PTC meetings is not required.

Daily Classroom Helpers: I would love to have you be a part of your child’s classroom. I will need help daily from 8:15 until 9:45 (reading/homework check-in/Sight Word Busters) and 10:00 until 11:00 (math). This will entail small group help and general class prep work and grading. Because this time is spent with me working with kids in small group, it is essential that you are able to commit to working on your scheduled day (weekly, monthly, or as often as possible; when you commit, you acknowledge that you will be here dedicated to working with our students....no siblings please).

Art Docent helper: This is a great program! The volunteer will help present an art lesson, followed by a hands-on activity. Artistic ability is not required for the job and there will be someone to direct you in how to run this program. Art supplies are available for you to use. Ideally, I would like an art docent to come in every other week, but I would be happy to work around your schedule!

P.E. Docent: This person will be responsible for choosing a P.E. activity to facilitate the class in. A list of activities to choose from, their instructions, and equipment is provided! It would be great to have our P.E. docent visit as little as once a week or once every two weeks, and as much as 2-3 days a week, I am willing to work around your schedule.

Prep. Help from Home: If you have young ones at home and are not able to find childcare to come help in the classroom, I would still love your help. Please just take a look at the list and mark any and all areas you are interested in helping to volunteer in.
