In third grade, learning math facts is a very important part of the Illinois Common Core State Standards curriculum. The Illinois Common Core standards in third grade focus on students learning multiplication and division facts. Xtramath is a computer program that tests students on math facts. The 3rd grade students will be practicing math facts with xtramath about 10 minutes a day at school. Students may also practice xtramath at home at night by logging on to their xtramath account. Click on the Symbaloo/Websites tab to get to the xtramath.org website or click on the picture below. Then your child uses their xtramath pin number. If your child does not have access to a computer with internet at home, they can practice their math facts with good old-fashioned flashcards. It is very important for a child’s math success that they know all the basic facts, so that is why we place such a high importance on each child being successful with xtramath. Every child in 3rd grade has the ability to pass the levels and operations in a timely manner all it takes is a little effort. Please help us by encouraging your child to do well in xtramath.
