In 3R almost all classroom and social situation can fall under two basic rules- WORK HARD and BE KIND. These will be the two main rules for the students to follow in the classroom (and in life). If the 3R students remember to work hard everyday and be kind to everyone everyday then they will have a very successful 3rd grade year and life.
During the first week of school the students in 3R and I will be discussing why we are at school and the responsibilities of students and teachers. We will be discussing the importance of demonstrating good character even when no one is watching. Throughout the year the students will be learning about Growth Mindset and will be having character education lessons once a week.
Woodland Elementary Behavior System
This year we will be continuing our behavior system for the entire elementary school. The Woodland elementary rules are: be kind, be respectful, be responsible, and persevere. Students will be given checkmarks if they break a rule. If they get three checkmarks then the will have to fill out a think sheet and miss the end of the quarter incentive. The students will also earn terrific tickets for good behavior and will receive rewards for earning tickets. During the first few weeks of school we will be teaching the students the behavior expectations.
