Animal Science

Recommended for grade level 9-12.

This course will take students through a more in-depth look to the different animal industries including (but not limited to) beef cattle, dairy cattle, swine, poultry, equine, goats & sheep, aquaculture, and companion animals. Students will look at different methods of management and production for each of the covered species, breeds, reproduction, purposes/uses, and interesting facts. Students will also look at the impact of each industry on civilization in addition to the evolution of each industry. Students will work with a variety of materials, both computer and paper based.
