Prerequisite: Passing grade in Spanish I

Course Description: Spanish II continues the procedures of the first year course in listening comprehension, speaking, reading, writing and cultural awareness. Reading selections and supplementary activities help the students to increase their proficiency in oral and written Spanish.

Course Objectives: Students will be able to:

1. Understand and speak Spanish in a manner comprehensible to native speakers

2. Read a novel and short stories with direct comprehension

3. Communicate in present and past tense

4. Demonstrate an awareness of the Spanish-speaking world and cultural similarities and differences

5. Write original stories and short controlled paragraphs
