Hailing from Nebraska, I graduated Blair High School and attended Northwestern College, in Orange City, IA. I studied abroad in Costa Rica and graduated with a K-12 teaching endorsement and Major in Spanish.

My teaching history:

• 4 years at Gehlen Catholic in Le Mars, IA teaching Spanish 1-4

• 1 year at Homer, NE teaching Spanish 1-2 and ELL

• this will be my 9th year at West Lyon teaching Spanish 1-4

I enjoy traveling, cheering on the Huskers, warm beaches, snorkeling, playing guitar, creating things, dancing, gardening, and spending time outdoors. I live in Sioux Falls, SD with my family. I am married to Todd Montsma and have a 4 year old daughter.
