POP HLTH 709 Translational and Outcomes Research in Health and Health Care
Current funding trends reflect an emphasis on research that looks into ways to translate knowledge into improvements in clinical practice and community health programs—type 2 translational research (T2TR).
The course—Intro to Type 2 Translational Research (POP HLTH 650 section 35)—will introduce you to type 2 methods, issues, and competencies, including effectiveness, dissemination, implementation and policy research.
Professor Maureen Smith* will take you through the steps of designing a sound and competitive type 2 project—from developing the research question to reporting the findings.
The course is recommended for those with at least one or two courses in research design and/or analysis.
Pre-requisite: consent of instructor. To enroll in POP HLTH 709, e-mail Professor Smith at maureensmith@wisc.edu by June 1. Enrollment limit is twelve students.
