BUILDING

Ryan Tim and Joe attended a training on solar installations in Springfield last week. Work around town has begun to pick up at a rapid pace with 75 building permits issued over the month of April. Progress continues on Hoxsey Street on the North Science foundation systems. The department will remain busy in the field throughout the rest of the spring with, in addition to progress inspections, tents for numerous Williams events begin to pop up around campus. Each tent requires a building permit and safety inspection.

HEALTH

Jeff has been receiving numerous permit requests for farmer's market vendors and has been working through rental inspections and restaurant inspections.

LAND USE

The Planning Board will meet Tuesday to look at two site plan reviews, one for Williams for changes to the CDE site plan, and one for the Fire District to begin site work on Main Street. They will also review a proposal for a subdivision on Ide Road that would create 2 new lots.

The Con Com will meet Thursday to work through various projects including the Town's work on the Cluett Drain System at Water Street and Gale Road.

The Hazard Mitigation Plan has been reviewed by MEMA and BRPC is working on revisions.

The Town has selected NRC of Albany, NY to perform enviornmental abatement on the Photech Boiler Room at 330 Cole Avenue. Following abatement the DPW will demolish the boiler room. Further remediation will occur on the building when Berkshire Housing moves forward with the remainder of the project. This work is being funded by a Brownfield grant from the US EPA.
