Since the last report on 10/20/16:
Training: Sgt. Paul Thompson, along with Officer Shuan William and K9 Officer Mike Ziemba participated in an Active Shooter scenario for first responders at the Sullivan School in North Adams on Friday, 10/28. All three are certified ALICE (Alert. Locate. Inform. Counter. Evacuate) instructors for the Department.
Community: K9 Officer Ziemba and bloodhound partner Daisy made a guest appearance at the Milne Public Library on Tuesday, 10/25 in support of Nancy Castaldo, the author of the science book for children, “Sniffer Dogs”. Officer Ziemba was able to provide some real-life experiences that he has had tracking with both department bloodhounds, Blue and now Daisy.
Motor Vehicle Crashes: There were eleven (11) MV crashes reported:

Roadway (4): Petersburg Rd (Van slid off roadway due to slick conditions); North St (Truck went through guardrails after failing to negotiate corner); Adams Rd (MV struck a street sign); Main St (MV stopped for pedestrian in crosswalk was struck from behind)
