I signed a 7 month energy agreement to cover town owned facilities past next winter. This time of year generally shows the lowest prices as winter is ending. I was concerned about a late summer/early fall renewal at a point when prices are generally higher.
Our current contract is at 0.0889 and the extension is priced at 0.0895. The difference is that this is 100% green sourced power. Best non-green price was 0.0870. Given the incremental difference in pricing, any of these would have kept us within budget. Hopefully, by the end of next winter, we will have greater clarification on net metering credits which will lower overall cost.
