Colleen Nurney from Williamstown Commons will speak at the Harper Center on Tuesday April 5 on the topic of the MOLST. A MOLST –Medical Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment- allows persons with advanced illnesses to make their wishes regarding treatment be known, communicated to others and honored across all health care settings across Massachusetts. MOLST is not a health care proxy, it’s a medical order similar to a prescription relaying instructions between health care professionals about a patients care and is based upon an individual’s right to accept or refuse treatment including treatment which may extend life. Nurney will speak at 12:30, she will be preceded by a luncheon at noon. Open to all.
