Highway Department

On Monday we discovered a collapsed storm drain on North Hoosac Road that we believe is a major contributor to the embankment land sliding in this troublesome area by saturating the subsurface.. The highway department spent the week removing and replacing guardrails, excavating and replacing the damaged pipe, backfilling, compacting, etc.

I have scheduled Countryside Landscaping to arrive Monday morning and hydro seed the area.

Attached photos will illustrate.

We are in the process of rebuilding the roads within Southlawn Cemetery. Grinding and subgrading have been roughed in. We will need to replace all 50 year old storm drains before we can properly proceed. Access to the cemetery will be maintained.

At Margaret Lindley Park, the dam has been closed and the pond filled. All looks good.
