Weddings:
Graylyn is an ideal venue for weddings of 10-250 guests – or more, with a tent!
We host the majority of our weddings on Saturday evenings, but also host a large number on Fridays and Sundays, particularly in the busiest wedding seasons (mid-April through June, September through early November).
A typical event flow may be:
Ceremony – White Garden
Cocktail Hour – Rear Terrace
Reception – Living Room Wing, Dining Room Wing, or both, depending on the size of the wedding
Good to Know:
-Graylyn rarely books wedding ceremonies unless a reception is also being planned at the estate. (Exceptions may apply on certain dates.)
-Brides and bridal parties may arrange to have their photos taken on the estate grounds only if they are having their wedding, or another wedding related event such as their rehearsal dinner or bridal shower, here at Graylyn. This would be arranged through their Special Events Coordinator in advance.
-Graylyn prepares all food and beverage served through our on-site kitchen, so outside catering is not required or permitted.
-If a potential bride or groom stops in to tour the estate on their own, we would love to get their information so that we can get in touch with them! The front desk has business cards, and inquiry forms that they can fill out so that our Weddings & Special Events Manager can reach out to share more details on Graylyn Weddings.

In additional to weddings, Graylyn hosts a large number of social special events including but not limited to:

Good to Know:
-Our largest annual special event is the “Winterlark” fundraiser, which is planned by Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in support of their Cancer Patient Support Program and takes place in early February. Approximately 600 guests attend, and a tent is constructed on the back lawn and over the Rear Terrace.
-Brunch, lunch, reception and dinner menus are available, and our Weddings & Special Events Manager will work with the clients to discuss the space best suited for their event size and date.
