Critical elements for all scrolls

These are the traditional Western scroll texts.  Feel free to devise your own; however, please make sure that it includes the following critical elements:

• The award given

• Name of the award recipient (if the name is not registered, insert “known as” in front of the recipient's name)

• The first names of the Sovereign and Consort who gave the award

• The realm in which the award was given

• The date the award was given

Critical elements if the recipient wants their *registered* arms on the scroll

• The blazon (the official words describing the registered arms)

• The emblazon (the picture of the registered arms)

NOTE: Grants and Patents of arms often include “achievements” (helms, mantles/acanthus, torse/coronet/cap, crests, supporters, compartment, and/or mottos)

Kingdom text with a prior grant

(Insert optional beginning if desired) Be it known that Their Majesties, (Insert Sovereign’s first name) and (Insert Consort’s first name), [Sovereign/King/Queen] and [Sovereign/Consort/King/Queen] of the West, do this day honor Their subject (Insert full Name of recipient), who has demonstrated [their/his/her] great skill with Missile Weapons and [their/his/her] courtesy both on and off the field. They name [them/him/her] a Yeoman of the West and admit [them/him/her] to the Royal Missile Company. Further, They do hereby affirm [their/his/her] Sole, Unique, and Exclusive Right to bear (insert Blazon) by Grant in this Our Kingdom of the West. (Insert optional ending and do not forget the date the award was given.)

Kingdom text without a prior grant

(Insert optional beginning if desired) Be it known that Their Majesties, (Insert Sovereign’s first name) and (Insert Consort’s first name), [Sovereign/King/Queen] and [Sovereign/Consort/Queen/King] of the West, do this day honor Their subject (Insert full Name of recipient), who has demonstrated [their/his/her] great skill with Missile Weapons and [their/his/her] courtesy both on and off the field.
