Interested in helping out? Here are a few suggestions!
Welcome! This is really a lot easier than you might think, and it's fun! (As a kid, who didn't like to color?) You do NOT need to be an experienced, warranted, practicing, or talented artist to join in and attend scribal arts activities and events, and/or create art. If you are new to the SCA (or a returning old-timer). Becoming a scribe is a great way to meet people and make new friends.
There are currently several assistance positions that do not require scribing. For example:
Guild ambassadors to help educate the populace as to the Guild's policies and procedures, especially new award recipients.
event stewards for workshops, scriptoria, and scribal displays
program coordinators to implement last-minute requests or long-term projects
Please contact our Beadles with questions or comments about the site.
Do you have a workspace large enough to hold a class or a weekly scriptorium? Do you have art supplies that you could donate? Would you be willing to hold a fundraiser?
So to learn to scribe, to find a workshop, to help with administrative tasks, or to be a Patron of the Guild, contact us!
Welcome and thank you for your planned hard work! The Company is looking forward to helping you. Feel free to browse around a bit to learn more about us. We encourage any interested artist to advertise their availability, interests, and specialties (submit the Scribal Database Sign-up form below). Advertising is completely commitment-free, and as a practicing fine artist, you decide which art projects, service efforts, and/or commission pieces you will work on. Announce your availability, interests, and specialties by completing the form below. We look forward to seeing what you produce.
REMINDER: The structure of interaction with patrons is like that of other artisans, such as jewelers and armorers; Work is commissioned, and payment for services is negotiated in whatever form is agreed to. See the General Policies for more details.
For West Kingdom awards and peerages issued before AS L (<2016), please see the Pre-Guild Scroll Tracker and follow the How To Make/Request/Checkout A Pre-Guild Scroll instructions.
For awards issued through the Principality of Cynagua, please contact the Sable Swan Scribe.
For all other scroll arrangements, you're in the right place, and you are the Captain of your ship! Please take a moment to:
Review our General Policies to familiarize yourself with terminology and expectations.
Proclaim your availability for projects, and/or reach out directly to a patron or recipient and offer your services if you have a specific project in mind.
Post your progress and/or final work to our future art display site.
