Low Self Esteem Interventions

Before you start, a few important points:

• Try multiple interventions
• Each intervention should be tried for a minimum of 2 weeks, & more than 1 intervention may be implemented at the same time
• Collect and track specific data on each intervention tried & its effect
• If your data indicates no progress after a minimum of 6 weeks, you may consider moving to the next tier of interventions

support and structure needed to be more successful at LRI.

Interventions:

Select a Peer Buddy to Work with this student

Find a Job for the Student to have in the classroom

Praise the student in a specific and genuine way. (Frequent)

Give Touch Gold Cards

Contact the Parent

Check In/Check Out with respected Mentor adult

Modify assignments to bring success

Build a Strong Rapport with this student

Teach Social Skills

Teach Relaxation Techniques

Teach Coping Skills

Show the student tangible evidence of progress

Showcase the Students Good Work Accomplishments

Carefully place student in area with students that build people up
