Analyze the uses of the word "rhetoric" in the news and clarify its definition.
Distribute rhetorical devices and strategies handout. Keep it all year long. If you misplace it, there is a link to the handout below.
Watch and discuss Taylor Mail's poem "Like Whatever." Discuss central argument and how it ties into rhetoric.
Homework: Write a 7 to 10 sentence paragraph describing a time when you tried to persuade somebody of something. What did you want? What did you do and/or say? Were you successful?
