When should you tell?




This diagram can help students of all ages determine whether or not they should tell about a situation.

Sometimes kids tell on others to get them into trouble (tattling). As a side note, I prefer not to use the word "tattle" because of the negative connotation/intent it elicits. It could be that a student does not have the skills to handle the situation he is in. Teachings skills like helpful words to use (assertive "I" messages) will help students work towards being able to deal with more and more situations on their own.
