Research interests: Understanding human aging and developing models for pharmacological targeting of aging and age-related disorders.
Current Projects: I am currently running clinical trials to repurpose wellestablished
drugs like Metformin and Acarbose to understand their action on tissuespecific
transcriptome and metabolome in the elderly population. My longterm goals are to develop a set of pharmacodynamic biomarkers for human aging and create a network model for predicting biological age of an individual from peripheral gene expression and physiological variables.
