Modified Lesson Plan

In this class, I modified a lesson plan from my math methods class to accommodate a hypothetical student with dyscalculia. My modified lesson plan accommodates the student in five ways: emphasizing graphic charts and diagrams, allowing calculator use, providing additional time on assessment, providing numbered lists of steps to solve problems, and giving the student a copy of my notes.

Current Event Discussion

As a graduate students, I also researched a current event relevant to individuals with disabilities and led a class discussion on it. The topic of my presentation was centered around vocational rehabilitation. I researched and familiarized myself with Michigan's vocational rehabilitation program, and I researched how the quality of VR services varies from state to state.
