Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers

During my time at the University of Michigan I have been heavily involved with the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). I have held the following leadership positions:

Academic Chair - Organized all academic events for the 2014-2015 year, including our weekly study tables. Additionally, I was able to provide tutors for most engineering courses to students who expressed interest.

2015 SHPE'd Abroad Organizer / Trip Leader - Organized, gathered funding (~ $18,000), and led a volunteer trip to San Jose, Costa Rica, during which 13 SHPE students built a playground for local children in an impoverished neighborhood. This trip allowed the undergraduate students an opportunity to use their engineering skills in a service-learning project in addition to gaining an international cultural experience.

Vice President External - Planned all professional development events. In addition, I acquire all necessary corporate funding, and handle all corporate relations for the 2015- 2016 academic year.
