The University of Michigan Mechanical Engineering program requires its students to take lab courses during their junior and senior year in order to acquire skills in data acquisition/ processing, result interpretation, and proficiency development in technical communication. These courses give students the opportunity to develop complex engineering models to compare to their experiments.
