We are currently starting up new research projects and we need to engage trainee research staff. We are also looking for experienced researchers to work on projects that are already under way.
The most usual way to start in research is through an official scholarship. There are many different kinds of research scholarships. The News and announcements section provides information on specific grants as they become available. Nevertheless, other alternatives that may fit the candidate’s profile can also be taken into consideration.
Depending on your profile (undergraduate, doctor's degree student, trainee or experienced researcher), you will be able to apply for different kinds of financial aid:
UJI students who are registered in the second cycle of their university studies or the last year of their degree can apply for collaboration grants from the ministry (the application period is usually from July to September). All UJI students (degrees, diplomas, engineering degrees, technical engineering degrees, master’s degrees, doctor's degrees) can also apply for UJI collaboration grants for carrying out periodic collaborations.
In addition, UJI also has its own program to suport the training and engagement of research staff. This programme offers pre-doctoral grants for the training of research staff as well as financial aid for engaging PhD research staff to assist the research groups at UJI.
At regional level, the Generalitat Valenciana (Valencian Regional Government) also offers a number of different programmes: the VALi+d programme for trainee researchers, grants for training research staff at the pre-doctoral level, the Santiago Grisolía programme, grants to help in research staff training, the VALi+d programme for post-doctoral researchers, grants to help in the engagement of doctoral level research staff by research bodies, Gerónimo Forteza programme.
At national level, the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation offers national training programmes for human resources training programmes (sub-programmes of Research Staff Training – FPI-MICINN – and University Teacher Training – FPU-MED) and engagement and incorporation of HR (sub-programmes Ramón y Cajal – MICINN-RYC, Juan de la Cierva – MICINN-JDC, Technical assistant – MICINN-PTA – and Torres Quevedo – MICINN-PTQ).
At European level, an interesting option is the EU Marie Curie programme.
